Living Water

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. – John 7:38 (NIV)

Water is a precious resource we need to it live, we need it because our body is made up predominantly of water. Water refreshes, it cleanses and restores. Its no wonder that water is used to purify us in baptism. We can live months without food, but only a few weeks without water.

Hebrews 10:22 says ” let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” Jesus is our pure water who washed away our sins. His water restores, renews and resurrects.

Many of us enjoy the steam room and a good soak in the jacuzzi after a workout. Both the steam and jacuzzi involve heat and water. This combination at just the right temperature removes toxins and impurities from our bodies, relaxes and invigorates us. If water can give this much pleasure in it natural state imagine what the living waters of Jesus Christ is like.

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying “If anyone thirst, let him come to Me and drink” John 7:37 (NKJV) It would be great if our lives were to reflect the magnitude of Jesus invitation and the hope of the one with streams of living water flowing from within Him

Revelation 7:17 (NIV) says, “For the lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘He will lead them to springs of living water.’ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

Father, may Your living water flow through your people today and always, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

May His Living Waters fill you today.
